This module's synthesis of theory and practice is vital, with students learning key concepts and restorative facilitation skills. Therefore, this module focuses mainly on the theoretical aspect of restorative justice and practices, how to implement restorative practices, and how to be a safe and effective restorative practitioner. The following indicative topics will be covered, but not limited to, in the module:  

History of restorative justice 

Defining restorative justice 

Analysis of responses to crime, conflict and challenging behaviours     

Key concepts, theories and values in restorative justice

There are 2 course options;

• Restorative Justice Theory and Practice (running 23rd June-22nd July 2025
• Restorative Justice Complex and Sensitive Cases (running 30th June-29th July 2025)
