Years of austerity, rising inflation and a cost of living crisis have led to a wide range of pay disputes across the public and private sectors. Workers have sought to regain the real value of earning eroded by low pay increases and tight pay controls over a number of years. Strikes have taken place across organisations, in the civil service and many other private sectors.

The course with case studies on public and private sector's pay crises will examine what happens to pay in the public and private sectors, the role of the Government, Employers and the Unions in the disputes. It will address contentious issues and to reflect on future pay prospects necessary to ensure a sustainable industrial peace and harmony. Participants are expected from Public and Private Organisations, Employers Organisations, Unions, and Non Governmental Organisation.

The course will be delivered by the Centre for Research on Employment Work (CREW) at Greenwich Business School, University of Greenwich, London and in person. Experts and resource persons on the subject from the public and private sectors will deliver the sessions.
